The first time was in Sydney. My clothes were covered in white sprinkles of mould (I thought it was icing sugar). I was constantly sick, always tired, and dealing with headaches and endless colds. Every time I left home for work trips, I felt better. Every time I came back, I felt worse. When I finally got tested, I had toxic levels of mould in my body.
The second time was in Wellington, where black mould spread through my bathroom and wardrobe walls. My energy tanked. I gained weight. My memory suffered. My face was inflamed. When the inspector tested my apartment, he said no one should have been living there.
